Every Thursday we will showcase a specialty product or service that has gotten us so smitten we’re ready to break open our piggy banks. These special gems have all been hand-picked & modified, exclusive to eFashionistas – sloppy seconds? No thank you!
Initially we were going to run our promotions “Happy Hour” style but let’s be honest, one hour is never long enough! So, we’re starting “Cheeky Thursdays” at 5pm and ending at the stroke of 9pm.
SWEET FACT ~ Our gems will be available in limited quantities, although we don’t plan on revealing how many are left! Our advise to you is: don’t hesitate if you see an item you fancy. First come, first serve Fashionistas!

Attention! Attention! Petticoats to be introduced as a staple item in every fashionista’s wardrobe.
Imagine hand-made, custom-designed petticoats in just about every shade. Ann Swank, owner, designer and seamstress, hand-makes and custom designs these underpinnings to add color, volume and flair to any party dress. Fun, feminine and flirty, her vintage-inspired collection will leave you dreaming up glamorous afternoon tea parties and grandiose galas!
We ordered these gorgeous pastel coloured petticoats for our Annual Easter Bunny photoshoot last month, and what a perfect addition they turned out to be! Not only did they arrive in the shortest time-frame, but they were delivered in the most adorable packaging along with a personal thank you card. It’s all about the details ladies!
Petticoats are generally worn under a skirt or a dress to enhance the shape, resulting in a seemingly smaller waist..not at eFashionista. We suggest sporting them on top of a white slip! Besides, why would something so pretty be hidden? Tulle, chiffon, lace, blue, magenta, ivory, pink… custom petticoats for all your girly desires.
Get to know Ann Swank:
1. What inspired you to start your own petticoat line?
It was a complex combination of things, including a frustrated job-search in a failing economy and the consequent desire to strike out on my own instead of wasting more time on résumés and applications. I have always had a passion for sewing and a flair for the theatrical as well as a nostaligic love of fashion and design from by-gone eras, so a petticoat boutique is a natural fit. I love filling a unique, feminine niche in modern women’s fashion.
All of my custom petticoats are made to measure as well, so the fit is always just right! I realize that petticoats aren’t a garment that most modern women wear all the time, but they can add a lot of fun and femininity to a special outfit, so I love working with women to find the perfect petticoat to help them dress up their favourite frock.
3. What would our members be surprised to know about you?
I have an ultra-nerdy side and I’m a not-so-closeted book-worm and academic at heart. Before I opened up my petticoat shop, I was a high school English teacher. I also have a master’s in Irish & Irish-American studies from NYU, and though I wouldn’t say I have the gift of the gab, I can speak a little Irish.

Two consecutive days of pampering goodness at Aveda – yes please!
To my delight, massages are not only reserved for coloring appointments! I was pleasantly surprised when Ivan, my dedicated hair stylist, asked me to follow his assistant upstairs… “Lavender or Rose Absolute?” she asked, and I couldn’t resist the calming effects of lavender. Before I knew it, I was on Cloud 9. No hand massages this time around ladies… (you can read my last post here)
So, it turns out there is no need to wash your hair the night before a hair styling appointment at Aveda. The hair stylists here swear by providing their clients the full sensory experience and highly recommend to leave it all up them.
Ivan convinced me yesterday that my hair needed a trim. He’s the expert so I listened to his advice and let him at my hair with scissors. Half an inch turned into three inches… If it had been anyone else, I would have screamed! I think you girls know the feeling… HOWEVER, Ivan had such a confident and calm demure about him that I had no doubt it was the right thing to do.
And indeed it was!
I now have hair that radiates life, bounce and fresh curls. Off I go!

A visit to the hair salon has never been so divine – customer satisfaction + hair care at its best! Finally a salon that embodies beauty, wellness, & hair care all at once – Fashionista APPROVED!
Josee was appointed my color specialist for the day. I was instantly wooed with her level of expertise, she has truly mastered the art + science of hair care.
Did you know that you don’t need to resort to a permanent dye for a color boost? Josee explained that a toner will do just that and will last up to 2 months depending on your hair condition. I opted for copper instead of my usual blond, and vibrant copper was what I got! I walked out of the salon with shiny, bouncy and great smelling hair. Would I go back? Most definitely!
The Good – The salon smells like a spa, enveloped with the aroma of eucalyptus
The Better – Waiting for your colour to set? Not a problem, enjoy a complimentary cappuccino and soothing hand massage.
The Best – Aveda has raised the bar with their Signature Sensory experiences – you’re invited to close your eyes while you lie flat and enjoy an upper back & neck rub as they wash your hair with finesse. Oh-so heavenly.

You can rest assured that your dress will remain entirely unique, and can be adjusted to your body, style, desired colour and as an added touch, you can have your name embroidered along the inside of your dress.
How breathtaking is the following?
This creation alone took over 70 hours to design and produce; made of 100% silk, the bustier has a luxurious satin hand feel, accented with a touch of antique pink and the bottom of the dress is made up of layers upon layers of silk chiffon, fit for the Fashionista bride.

Furniture is an extension of our personalities. Why should we settle for cookie cutter fabrications when we, fashionistas, don’t fit any one mold?
Meet Dorothy, fairy godmother of furniture, gifted with the powers to transform any old and unwanted piece into the belle of the ball. She can repurpose furnishings into one-of-a-kind treasures, altering them from functional to fabulous!
The blend of Dorothy’s artistic flair, and the magic behind gorgeous fabrics, paints and stains brings abandoned furniture to life, more often than not, past its former glory.

1. What makes your finds special?
I love different décor styles, so, my “finds” show that. The pieces must have some sort of quirkiness behind them, a story, or just fun and whimsical which can be transformed. All of my pieces have a personality. Yup…a personality. They are not just simply a piece of furniture that has been discarded, they are characters. I fall in love with them and we must be able to build some sort of relationship. In the end, the piece tells me what it wants to look like.
2. Why are your services ideal for a Fashionista?
I build relationships with my Clients. I need to see their vision so that the piece becomes special to them. I will spend the time with clients, so that in the end, they are happy. Since I love all décor styles, I can transform a piece into something very special. This is not just a job for me, this is my passion…and it shows in my work. I must be happy with the finished piece, or it doesn’t leave the atelier. I can also recreate pretty much all décor styles. Shabby chic, Modern Baroque, vintage, Hollywood Regency, Victorian, elegant and classical, and so on. I love love love what I do, and it transcends into my work. I can take a simple piece of furniture, and embellish it.
3. What would our audience be surprised to know about you?
I’m shy. But don’t tell everyone, I have been told it’s not good for the “public” image. Tee hee!
SWEET FACT: Dorothy shares not only our passion for fashion but also for animals by supporting the “Petits Pawz animal rescue”.

Luluthia’s atelier was the ideal setting for our Easter Bunny Photoshoot. We fell in love with the space (and adorable garden-themed props!) so much that we switched locations just one day before the shoot. Once the eFashionista touch was added, you felt as if you were transported to a magical garden full of beautiful flowers, amazing dresses, playful lingerie, cake pops, cupcakes and other yummy treats. If only a place like that really existed 
5 girls booked their Easter Bunny photoshoot sessions, and all looked absolutely stunning, having had their hair and makeup done by a fab duo and dressed up in the prettiest wardrobe ever. The star of the show? Schmunko, the most adorable (& perhaps feistiest!) bunny who was the “icing on the cake”!
We had a fabulously sweet day at our Easter Bunny Photoshoot and we’re so excited to share all of the pictures with you. In the meantime, enjoy the teaser pic! Seriously, how perfect is it?

This Saturday, eFashionista will be transforming the above room into an Easter Bunny fantasy land, offering its Fashionista members the chance to book their very own photoshoot session!

We hosted our first-ever Snow Bunny photoshoot using the picturesque Snow Village at Parc Jean-Drapeau as our majestic Winter Wonderland platform!
Fashionistas were given the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be an eFashionista model for a day (in sub-zero conditions nonetheless!). The models were adorned in dainty lingerie provided by GlobLove and topped with furry accessories by Quebec’s own Harricana by Mariouche.
We made sure to capture the unique experience with the help of our fabulous videography team exclusively for your viewing pleasure! Hope you love the video as much as we do – can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

I have unmanageable hair. If a drop of water so much looks my way, a poodle-esque mess appears atop my head. This is why my ears perk up at the mere mention of conditioners, serums, smoothers and any other form of proclaimed hair salvation product. So you can only imagine my sheer ecstasy (not even exaggerating here) when I found out I would be getting a KeraStraight treatment at Salon PURE. Yup, just another rough day of work at eFashionista.
So what is KeraStraight? They have a whole collection of products with different properties and benefits.
From sun protection spray to colour protect treatment – they’ve got you covered! Their claim to fame, the KeraStraight protein mask, contains proteins that actually reconstruct and revitalize damaged hair – I couldn’t wait to try it!
The Good: My hair was noticeably smoother immediately after the treatment. Patience is not a virtue I get along with, so seeing immediate results was awesome!
The Better: The proteins continue to reconstruct the hair for 48 hours, so the results are only going to get better. This means my hair is continuing to get healthier as I sleep, go to work, talk on the phone, eat, even as I’m writing this post – how exciting is that?!
The Best: Talking to Monia from PURE while waiting for the treatment to work its magic. She was absolutely adorable and so interesting! Oh, and I left my workout last night with not a frizzy hair in sight – pigs do fly, the fat lady has sung, and we have witnessed (a very early) Christmas miracle!
