Hi eFashionistas! Your friendly neighborhood Bra Snob is back, although this will be a brief note. I’m currently packing all my best clothes (and lingerie of course) and heading off to New York City for a few days to attend Curve NYC. If you’re not familiar with the inner workings of the lingerie market, Curve is one of the major trade shows. Hundreds of brands show up to preview their collections for the next season and to talk with buyers and press.

I’ll also be spending a day at The Lingerie Journal’s Independent Designer Showcase to check out the latest independent and luxury brands that we all need to add to our collections. I’ll be back afterwards with lots of pictures and behinds the scenes tales, but until then here are some essentials that any Bra Snob needs to pack in her suitcase.

A Soak Wash Travel Pack:

I buy one of these every few months and parcel them out among trips. Soak makes washing your good lingerie on the road a breeze with their single wash packets. Soak smells great, will get your lingerie squeaky clean and doesn’t even require any rinsing. Just grab your favorite knickers, your hotel room sink, and a Soak packet and you’re all set.

A reasonable assortment of lingerie:

I always have a much harder time making decisions about what lingerie to take on a trip than what clothes to bring. For this trip, I opted for bras and panties that would disappear under my carefully planned work outfits and that would remain comfortable and supportive all day. I took one nude convertible bra, one t-shirt bra, and one plunge bra. I also made sure that I had the correct color bras for any sheer blouses or bodysuits that I took.

Don’t forget the basics:

Dying to show off that cute minidress or pencil skirt? Make sure you pack your shapewear to give you a smooth line underneath it. Are you planning on being a guest in someone’s house? Make sure to pack pajamas or nightgowns that you won’t be ashamed of someone else seeing.

Holly Jackson – eFashionista’s Bra Snob

Happy Saturday Fashionistas / Splurgelistas!

It’s the weekend and we bet some of you are already out and about at the spa, nail bar, shopping or the more courageous are at home baking something special for their lover, loved ones or pretty selves! If you are, we sure hope this post inspires you!

When it comes to detail, glitter and tasty sweets – Connie Cupcake raises the bar. Tania Semper (Founder of eFashionista) had the opportunity of meeting with Connie personally at the Wedluxe show last month, and she had nothing but sweet things to say about her - no pun intended. She can bake just about anything but you’ll notice that she leans more towards romantic, vintage pinks, pearls, antique golds and deep glittering silvers. Feel free to checkout her online gallery to see her signature creations.

You can see a snippet of Tania’s experience at the Connie cupcake station at the Wedluxe show below ~

We’ll post more on Connie in the very near future, stay tuned!

Happy V-Day Valentines!

Today is a simple excuse to tell everyone you ♥ them, and the best gifts are those you bake at home! Amber Spiegel, cookie designer based out of NYC, created the most alluring V-Day treats yet, and although it’s a little late to expedite a shipment in time for this evening, keep her in mind for future occasions! Amber sells her creations directly via Etsy, and can create just about anything your little “♥ ” desires – no pun intended. :)

Meet Holly Jackson – eFashionista’s Bra Snob!

Holly’s the owner of the lingerie copywriting company The Full Figured Chest and columnist for several major sites and trade journals such as The Lingerie Addict,  McPeteSez, and the Lingerie Journal. She’ll be providing us with fabulous lingerie finds, as well as tips & tricks in caring and wearing hand-made lingerie.

Get the low-down on Holly ~

~What do you love most about lingerie?

I love that lingerie is something that any woman can put on to feel great. Even if no one sees it, you know how great you look. It’s an incredibly inclusive industry these days. There’s lots of talk about how certain body types are represented more than others, and I think that used to be true. Luckily, the rise of great made to measure designers means that women of any shape, size, or body type can buy wonderful luxury lingerie.

~What would our eFashionista members be surprised to know about you?

While I work with technology every day as a lingerie copywriter and columnist, I purposefully don’t own a television or a microwave. My favorite radio station is the 24 hour Paris jazz station. I’m addicted to great mystery novels, and I think my ideal man is Lord Peter Wimsey.

~How do you unleash your inner princess?

I’m striving to take more time to relax each day, and to buy fewer items that are higher quality instead of filling my house up with stuff. I work out on a regular basis, but I’m more likely to do a ballet conditioning to relaxing music than go run for an hour at the gym.

Her favorite independent brands are La Lilouche, Toad Lille, Priscilla Jade, Naked Princess and Amuse-Bouche, you’ll find out why in her next post!

Morning Fashionistas! We started 2012 with a bang – planning, styling & directing Maddy K’s shoot for her upcoming Bridal Boudoir affair on March 12th – an annual bridal show attracting over 800 fashionista brides-to-be! We’ll be posting some exciting insider details about her upcoming show in just a few days, but let’s talk “inspiration” first!

As I mentioned in the past, every shoot begins with a great storyline and although the story this time around was quite obvious, we allowed the beautiful lingerie, bridal gowns and accessories to speak for themselves. The above image is the inspiration Maddy provided us with in bringing her photoshoot vision to life. Maddy was adamant about incorporating ruffles – LOTS of ruffles!

Here are a few “behind-the-scenes” images we snapped while Roxanne posed for the Badger team. I think we came quite close to our inspiration board – just wait till you see the final images!

Checkout our facebook fanpage for some pictures we took outside of the boudoir. ;)

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be launching the Bridal Boudoir’s teaser promo video in just a few days, we DARE you to not “tie the knot” after watching it!
