Glitter Pumpkins

{photo credit: Pinterest}

This Thanksgiving weekend is all about Glitter Pumpkins!

What Fashionista wouldn’t want a glitter pumpkin as her Thanskgiving table centrepiece? We sure do! The best part about glitter pumpkins is that you don’t have to carve them, add some glue, your preferred shade of glitter, fasten with a bow & off you go! Glitter Pumpkins can last up to 3 weeks – 6 weeks if stored in a cool area, so you’ll be able to reuse these decorative delights for your Halloween gatherings.

The only catch is.. if you want a glitter pumpkin, you’ll have to sharpen your arts & crafts skills and tackle this task on your own. Lucky for you, we’ll reveal how!

Here are the materials you’ll need at hand: (Thank you Martha Stewart for your fabulous Glitter Pumpkin suggestions)

Designer Apron • Ultrafine Glitter • Pumpkin • Designer Dries Clear Adhesive • Spoon • Brown Acrylic Paint • Paintbrush • Tray for adhesive • Paper Plate • Rubbing Alcohol

Step 1 ~ Fashionista meets the Simple Life: Go pumpkin hunting at a local farm. Make sure you’re wearing your Hunter Boots!

Step 2 ~ Get ready to get your hands & nails dirty – we recommend visiting your local nail bar for a Shellac treatment, we can assure you that your nail polish will shine through, shellac treatments last weeks!

Step 3~ Pour glue into tray, add 1 to 2 drops of water to thin slightly. Some pumpkins are a little “waxy” so you may want to “season” your pumpkin first: wipe surface with rubbing alcohol then brush on a thin layer of adhesive and let it dry completely.

Step 4 ~ Coat one half of your pumpkin with glue but try not to hold the pumpkin by the stem, it may break off. While glue is wet, white and shiny, sprinkle on the glitter using your spoon.

Step 4 ~ Glue and glitter the other side of pumpkin as above. Coat stem with brown acrylic paint and let dry. Once dry, the stem can also be covered with glitter.

Step 5 ~ Add a satin bow for added glamour!

If you’re brave enough to tackle this challenge, snap a picture and send it to and you’ll enter our contest to winning a ticket to our upcoming “Baking in High Heels” event!

Baking in High Heels Photoshoot

Our Baking in High Heels event wouldn’t have been complete without a Signature photoshoot session! This time around, we partnered with Next Models agency and selected Delia, an exotic, yet playful looking model who acted as our high-heeled, domestic goddess for the day.

We had a mere two hours to transform Dish Cooking Studio into a whimsical platform of floral decor, chocolate heels and sweet delights, beautify the model and photograph her in a designer TootlePip apron, two dresses by Copious Couture and a dreamy lingerie set designed by La Lilouche.

The clock was ticking while Izabela and Stephanie from Sweet Table and Beth Appleton from Whimsical Wedding Cakes scrambled to get every little detail in place. Christine Cho was busy setting up her colourful assortment of pastel eye shadows, lipsticks, professional brushes, and of course artistic lashes (it’s all about the long lashes) on a nearby table.

Candice Irons, a hair stylist & extension specialist transformed the Dish bathroom into a mini version of a Blow Dry bar; curlers, combs, hair spray and Mane Teeze hair perfume bottles dominated the tiny space. Fashionistas, we know you can relate to this!

How darling is the sleep mask pictured below? We sure loved it! The Mademoiselle Sugar collection will be available on our online shop shortly.

We especially loved SweetPea’s beautiful floral anklet and head piece, along with the gorgeous Moschino platforms provided by PRFKT boutique.
